Help needed with handwriting. COMPLETED with thanks
« on: Sunday 01 February 09 08:56 GMT (UK) »
Help needed please with Sarah Anne's surname and her age.
(Thanks, Prue - it was my error - of course she is Sarah Jane (I don't know where I got the Sarah Ann from  :( )

The reference is HO107/2530/78/14 (Rose and Sarah Ann are over the page from the rest of the family).

Many thanks

Nell

Hi Nell  :)

Looks like KERR, and the age 2 mths.
Also I think her middle name is Jane, not Anne  :)

And...for anyone else looking, it's the Channel Islands, and p. 15 rather than 14  ;)

Cheers
Prue

I haven't been able to either. I also looked to see if there were any 'Keys' about to see if the K looked the same. There are a few Keays but it didn't really help me either. I don't think the letter is entwined with the top line because as the name is Moore there are no letters that should fall below the line.

Does anyone have access to the Births for St Peters Port to see the surnames of any Sarah Jane's that were born late 1850/ early 1851?

I agree, it could be KEYS.  If only they hadn't decided to draw a big fat line right under her name!  >:( ;D

Looks like Sarah Jane KEYS age 24 Nurse Child.

She would have been the nurse caring for the young children, Louisa, John, Mary Ann & Rosa. (Rosa's age could be 10 months).

Cheers
