Your message re Passengers on the S.S. Great Britain did not reach me till today.

I have a copy of 'Is Yours An S.S. Great Britain Family' and there are 23 under the name of Newton listed - some obviously families as they are all on the same passage number. If you let me know the christian names of the Newtons you are seeking let me know so I can identify them.

 i have a query on the SS Great Britain on the McClure brothers who moved from Magheranappin in County Donegal Ireland about 1868. They are said to have been to New Zealand and finally landed in Victoria. A Samuel McClure appears on the 1868 passenger list. Could you please check your book and see if any McClures on the passenger lists have an Irish note? The brothers were William, David, Samuel and Robert McClure.

There are 7 McClure names and 6 of those, all Irish, all came out on the S S Great Britain on voyage 32 which left Liverpool on 9 July 1868 and after a trip of 58 days arrived in Melbourne.

They were - McClure, Miss  Mary 30 yrs, no occupation, Samuel 23 yrs Farmer, Sarah 18 yrs, no occupation, Thomas 16 yrs, Gardener, William 50 yrs, no occupation and Rachel 50 yrs, no occupation.

On Voyage 41, S S Great Britain left Liverpool on 27 October, 1973, after 56 days arrived in Melbourne.  William J McClure, 21 yrs, no occupation is listed on this voyage. The ship then went on to Brisbane.  No nationality is listed for William J McClure.

I would like a look up please for Giacomo Bombardieri (maybe spelt Bomardiere)

His naturalization papers say he came on the Great Britain in Year 1870 and I am just verifying??

Two on the Great Britain in 1870,  you may find that 'Gial'  is actually 'Giac'.

I use My Heritage so can't view Ancestry and unfortunately being in Wagga. They don't have this information.
