Help reading name please
« on: Friday 06 February 09 17:14 GMT (UK) »
The surname is Bonny, & according to the censuses, he was born in Italy. I would be grateful if someone would have a go at what the first name might be.
(Ancestry have him as Saccrdote & Sacerdole, so not much help there!)

Hi Betty

Where did the child of Sacerdote get married?

There were many Italians in the Holborn and Clerkenwell areas of London.

Isn't it a funny name? I wonder how he pronounced it? Sounds a bit like Austrian chololate cake - Sachertorte!  ;D

Sacerdotus was, I think, the Latin word for a Priest.

I wonder how he pronounced it?

Sack -er-dote probably
