1851 Angus Dundee lookup please
« on: Tuesday 10 February 09 04:24 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Would be very grateful if someone could do a 1851 Angus Dundee lookup for me please.

Looking for James C Farrell born about 1823 (could be Ireland).  Not sure of his wife's name but his two young sons should be residing with him.  Peter born abt 1844 and John abt 1850 Dundee Angus.

Many thanks for any assistance

hi eilidh  :)

looking at the 1881 census 2 likely candidates for the sons were both born
ireland
there is one john farrell born c1848 and another born c1852 both living in
dundee
if yours is the second one then he would not be on the 1851 census if his
date of birth is correct
do you have the 1861 census ?
perhaps SKS could have a look and find out more info.

ev

ps was james c farrell still alive in 1881 ?
     wife possibly ann halket ?

Thank you Ruskie and Ev

Apologies for my late reply, just got up  :)

Yes I have the 1861 and 1871 census.  James Farrell married Ann Halket 1857 she died before 1871 census.  I was trying to establish the name of Jame's first wife, which Ruskie has found for me thanks.

His two sons from the first marriage were born in Dundee.

I appreciate your help, bye
