Henry Luffman (Newfoundland)

Henry Luffman (Loughman or Loveman) was b England 1783 and in 1807 married Ann Norcot in Newfoundland. Norcot now appears to be extinct or nearly so in the UK. Does anyone know where Henry was born?

If you go into www.dorsetopc.com click on 'site search', you will find yourself deluged in Luffmans.  Sherborne sounds promising as do Bradpole and Oborn.

Henry Luffman b 1783 was my ggggrandfather. any info on his parents or siblings would be greatly appreciated.

Will see what I can find out Selby. Roz; apologies for not responding before. Oborn does look like the place to me. I seem to have lost them again shortly afterwards; but some at least of the Oborn Luffmans went to India and appear on the Lucknow memorial. Still looking.
