Some of you might already know or use the site but it's worth mentioning for new and existing visitors.

www.flickr.com

The site hosts millions of images, some are just snapshots whilst others are really slick high quality images. There are numerous sets relating to Lincolnshire, searching for Lincolnshire should bring up a few thousand hits and you can always try a village or town name.

There are some stunning sets for Lincoln, many are available to download under a creative commons licence (if you download a picture you need to comply with any restrictions the licence states).

It's free to register with the site and there are numerous groups relating to the county, towns and villages, many of the images also have information/comments.

For example a really nice set relating to Lincoln

Seeing as the MSN groups have been discontinued it provides another outlet for things like church photographs

As well as searching for a county/town or village image you can always try seaching for a group that relates to an area or town, groups not only post images but also have discussion pages, for example the http://www.flickr.com/groups/gainsborough/ group has not just images but some history and trivia about the town, buildings and companies plus a number of "now and then" type images in the group pool.
