Payne, somewhere in Irelan
« on: Sunday 13 February 05 12:45 GMT (UK) »
Has anybody stumbled across the birth of a James PAYNE in about 1832 somewhere in Ireland.  All I know is that he was the son of Dominic Payne, a farmer.  BIVRI yields no clues.

Hi,

Have you search for Payne on the Griffiths valuation? See my website for links.

Hi Kate

Thanks for the pointer.  I know very little about Irish sources.

By the way, the link to your "Ireland webpage" under Irish sources on your home page points in the wrong direction.  Perhaps it is what you call an Irish link?

Do a Google search for Ros Davies surnames. This shows a list of sites. Open the one titled front page and go to the surname index. Under Pa... you will find several Paynes that lived in Co. Down
