Thompson/Lemon & Patterson/McCoubrey
« on: Saturday 21 February 09 06:53 GMT (UK) »
My G. Grandparents William & Sarah Ann (Lemon) Thompson were married in Trinity Church & Ireland, Belfast in 1881. They had five living (that I know of) children; John, Catherine, Elizabeth, Alexander & Brice. Both their fathers were called William but I do not know their mother's names.

My G. Grandparents John & Eliza Jane (McCoubrey) Patterson were married in St Annes C & I, Belfast in 1883 and had eight living children; John, Margaret, Elizabeth, Ellen, Martha, Thomas, Mary & Emily.  Again I know their father's names, i.e. Andrew (Patterson) & John (McCoubrey) but not their mothers'.

I would be grateful if anybody could help me in finding out the names of any of my G. G. Grandmothers, as it will help me to find out the names of William & Sarah's and John & Eliza's siblings.

 :)
Maternal - Williamson, Lynch,  Norris, Campbell, Woods
Paternal - Thompson, Patterson, Lemon, McCoubrey

Very briefly checked 1911 census online at

Searched for Brice Thompson and found family in street number 58 Hillview Street.http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai001431809/
It would appear Mary was born in Donegal.
Catherine was married 4 years and her married name is Annsley.

The other family appear to be at 1 Shaftesbury Street Belfast http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai001442493/

You can get the marriage details from www.familyulster.com for a modest fee.

Hello I believe we have the same Great Grandparents, John and Eliza Patterson. My Grandfather was John Aubrey Patterson. Your Grandmother was his sister Emily. Would be great to get more information.

Hello, through Ancestry DNA I found a cousin who has so much information on the Patterson clan that I am still trying to assimilate! She sent me a photo of all the siblings that I will try to attach to this post. Back row Thomas, Margaret Jane (my grandmother) Eliza Jane, John, Aubrey, Elizabeth. Front row Martha Anne, Ellen (Nellie) Emily, Mary Jane. UPDATE: having an issue attaching the photo and do not want to get timed out on this post. Will try again. Hello family! Sylvia

Hi Leaf1948,

Just seen your post, we are distantly related - my Granny was Emily Thompson. Can you please get in contact and share the photo you mentioned of the Patterson Family, as I would love to see it?

Kind regards.
