Hi again,

In the Ravenstonedale PRs there is:

James son to Eliz and Geo Udal Milner bap 26th Nov 1777.

Could this be your James? Were any of James' children called George?

Hi Gillian, up to now I havn,t got a son george but I need to look for more children as was pointed out to me earlier the first child I have got for James and his wife Isabella is joseph in 18ll and as james and Isabella were married in 1797 it is possible that there are earlier children.  But this sounds very promising so will look for a george.

Hi Andrea,

Just found James in the 1851 Census, couldn,t find him so put in Henry Thompson and his details that you gave me and james surname was listed as MDALE.  So a good result.  Don,t know how to thank you all you,re brill.  Pat

Just to let you know I have found 2 more children for James and Isabell

Mary Udale 1806 and guess what?   George Udale 1808.  But as James and Isabell were married in 1797 there,s surely got to be some earlier children, but at least thats a progression.  Regards Pat

Making progress.  I did give you the full reference for the 1851 so you could just have put that at the bottom of the search box and the page would have come up.   I found him originally by searching for just James with no surname born around that time in Kendal.   You then look through all the names until you see a likely mistranscription.   Useful tip for those names that are easy to mis-spell.

Hi! If you're still looking for info on this family, please reply. I've got a bit more than what's showing here.

Hi Janis,

Buddha's having a problem with her email address at the moment but I think that I have managed to get a message to her to let Buddha know of your new reply.

Regards

Sarah :)
