My James was married to Maria born 1813. Do not know when or where they married.

The children were James born 1841 Ulster Armagh
                             Mary   born 1843 Ireland
                            Catherine in 1847 Liverpool Lancashire UK
                             Thomas   in  1852 Ireland

James went on and married a Wexford girl Eliza Healy b 1843.

Can anyone put me straight?

Hi, james was my gggrandfather. He married Elizabeth Healy ( daughter of Owen Healy and Catherine Cashin) on the 7th of January 1877. They had 11 children, their youngest son being my ggrandfather Charles james Laffan born in Liverpool in 1886. James passed away in liverpool on the 6th of April 1904 at the age of 66. Elizabeth passed away at the Walton infirmary I. 1916 also at the age of 66.

I show only 8.Thomas Burke 1868 - 1929  Elizabeth 1870 - 1912  John 1875  Maria Catherine 1877 - 1948  Mary Jane  1879 - 1952  Edward Andrew  1882  Charles James  1884  and Mary 1886.    Did your connection Charles James marry an Amy?  My link is through Thomas Burke  - I also have connections to the branch of Maria Catherine. Sorry, I miss counted. There were 10 children. Alfred James 1863 not sure of his death date. Catherine 1864-1867, Thomas James Burke 1867-1929, Elizabeth 1870-1912, Julia 1872-1874, john 1874-1928, Maria Catherine 1877-1949, Edward Andrew 1879-1926 and Charles James 1886-1934. Charles names married Christina Crosby in October 1906, they had 7 children in 14 years. He died on January 11th 1934 at the age of 48 after falling down a hatch at the Liverpool docks. Their children were james Patrick 1907-1976, Eva 1909-1970, my grandmother Christina 1911-1989, Eileen, 1914-1997, patricia 1916-1922, Charles 1920-1992, Mary Elizabeth, 1922-1933.
