Here is an old photograph of The Hinton Gorse c1900 when Benjamin Anthony (great grandfather) & family lived there.
Photograph shows a rare view of some old cottages which were the property of the Sewell family. Richard Sewell's Blacksmith Shop was situated down the lane which runs alongside the hotel - Dog Lane. Richard Sewell lived behind the cottages on the right of the picture.

The second picture is the Woodford Halse Pierrot Band with Ernest Frederick Sewell (Fred) dressed as a nurse in a fund raising event at Rugby Station !!

Came across your photo of Woodford Halse.   Is there a connection with a Charles Royce Anthony from Shropshire?
