Best guess I can come up with is Marron. It could easily sound like Myron to an American ear.

For anyone who was interested in my search, I found a living Myron (surname) in Carlow, Ireland who claims their family is from Carlow. They have heard of some Myron's in Dublin.
The family may not be related to myself, but the name is still out there.

Who knows if the surname Myron would have been changed at Ellis Island, to Myron from another Irish surname that is similar?

 
Myron is not an Irish name ... Griffith's Primary Valuation lists one Myran in Co. Cork and one Myron in Tipperary.

I used the letters Myr, which automatically appear in any position, to see if there might have been anything similar ... the answer is there wasn't.

Obviously late to this thread, but I just wanted to say the actual origin of the surname Myron is unknown. I'm currently researching. It is very unlikely to be Irish tho!

My father was a Myron, and we know his family came to America from Ireland, and said to have been Scotish before that. It is hard to track, and I sent a message to a Myron on facebook, that currently lives in Ireland, but they did not want to talk (several years ago).

Hi again! I've been researching for a while and I think perhaps Myron was Miren. It's hard to say where it came from originally - I think the experts may be required on that one. In my research all Myron's that can trace or know of a Scottish link are related. Have you had your DNA tested?
