Michael,
Send me your email address through the personal messenger and I'll send you an email address that has direct links to that family.

Hello MQ!
Im Francis Horan,Im originally from Garbally, and very strangely,I too was adopted ,and now live in England, and have done so since I was 10 years old,I also tried to trace my family tree, back in the nineties, and discovered I had three cousins Dympna, Josephine and Vera all Horans, all apparently living in Garbally Co Offaly, but after writing many letters without any reply the trail went cold.
The only other snippet of information is the Quagans from fife alley are related to a gallagher family from high road in Birr co Offaly
By the way
Great Site!

I live in Massachusetts and my last name is Quagan.  Other relatives spell it Quegan.  Family hailed from Birr, County Offaly, arrived in Taunton, Massachusetts, USA around 1885.  I just stumbled upon this website, and I have my family back to Great-grandfather, James Quegan.  He came to Massachusetts with his brother, Patrick, and sister, Ellen.  The Quegan/Quagans are not all dead!  We had a big family reunion last Sunday!  I would love some help in further research, and would be happy to share mine.  Thank you!  Rosemary Quagan

Thank, you, that was very thoughtful of you to post this.  Can you tell which of those individuals listed has the last name Quegan?  The father of the brothers that came to America is William Quegan, wife Ellen Boland.  I believe William's dates 1812-1894 from a Wm Quegan of that name on a census record.  I'm not certain that it is the same.  The Wm Quegan I'm looking for has children born from 1848 to 1866.  I am at a standstill and any information at all is a help!

I would like to communicate with the first gentleman on this string, MickeyD, as I have photos of the Quegan family reunion this summer in Massachusetts, but it looks like he has not been on line since March.
