David age 15 born Glasgow.

You'll notice how two of Hugh and Helen's children have Marshall in their name, There was a Hugh Barclay married to Agnes Marshall 23 jun 1826 Kilmarnock

Marriages and births were found in www.familysearch.org

Hi Nigel,  On reading over the  1861 census for Hugh and Agnes, it just struck me that Balfron is in Stirlingshire and not Dunbartonshire, must be a transcription error.
So had a quick look to see if maybe either Hugh or Agnes were still living in 1881.

1881 census

   Dwelling:   250 High Street
   Census Place:   Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland
Source:   FHL Film 0203645     GRO Ref    Volume 644-5    EnumDist 13    Page 14
   Marr   Age   Sex   Birthplace
Agnes BARCLAY   W   76    F   Bonhill, Dunbarton, Scotland

Next I checked to see if there were any Agnes Marshalls born either in Bonhill or Balfron.
BINGO......Agnes Marshall born 29th may 1806, BONHILL, Dunbartonshire........parents. Robert Marshall and Margaret Buchanan

Good chance of them being the same person.

Hello BALNABEEN,

I am sorry to say that we have lost contact with Nigel, it looks like he changed email address but never logged back in to update it.

Old members do get in touch asking to update details.

Regards

Sarah
