My Bloomfield/Blomfield line seem to come from Brightwell before settling in Ipswich.  Haven't got back further than 1851 I'm afraid but if there is a Brightwell connection, I would be very interested to learn more

Yes, how frustrating is this, YT - will we ever solve the mystery?  I keep leaving the Blomfields to work on other branches of the family and then something like this turns up and rekindles my interest and off I go in search of them once again  ;D

Hi
Don't know if you are still connected to this site, have just seen your post of 2009.  I'm also a descendant of Blomfield/blumvill and would be interested to know how far have you got with the line. I'm a member of Ancestry would love to see your tree.
Regards

Cheryl

We have got back as far as Gilbert Blomville m Elizabeth English in Stonham. We've his father as Robert and some family from a Will and we know there are earlier Blomville's in Stonham but not how they are related at the moment.
Happy New Year

Hi I'm a bit late to this, but trying to work out who Nicholas B's wife was, all things point to an Elizabeth Paston daughter of clement Paston but she appears to have married a Browne 😖 Can anyone help with this?

Ray.

Hi.
This is the Newton line & mine is the Stonham line so I am unfamiliar with it but I have Nicholas B marrying Elizabeth Paston.

I have no other info.

Hi Yi
thanks for messaging back, I'm really confused with this Bloomfield branch of my family it all stems from a Sarah Bloomfield marrying a William rouse, she was from Dedham seems her parents and g grandparents came form there and seems to go back to Gilbert and beyond, I can't work it out but don't the Newton and Stonham lines all intermingle 🤔 As I said I'm late and new to discovering my ancestors.

Ray.
