His parents where Harold Pike and Violet Roberts
I cant locate a marriage I could have been Dorset
Cant find them on 1901 census so guess they werent married then
Cant find them on Free births deaths and marriages
I cant therefore buy a marriage cert any ideas

Was Kenneth their firstborn or did he have older siblings

I have searched the full GRO index 1921-1924 but no Pike/Roberts marriage

Freebmd only has Kenneth's birth - nothing before him with mothers maiden name Roberts

Does his birth cert say Violet Pike formerly Roberts or just Violet Roberts

I'm just wondering if he was illegitimate but both parents registered the birth

If Violet had been married previously - any marriage would have been under her married name.  But - any birth cert would show her true maiden name.

However - that does not account for the fact that there is no Harold Pike marriage to a Violet on freebmd prior to 1924 except this one

Marriages September qtr 1911

Pike  Harry J T    Cardiff  11a 889
Williams  Violet H     Cardiff  11a 889

I can only suggest that you search the full GRO index backwards  from 1920 (I've already done 1921-24) on a quarter by quarter basis in case any transcription has been missed from freebmd

Births March qtr 1885

Pike  Harry Joseph T     Cardiff  11a 375

Kenneth was my grandfather and Harold my great grandfather. Bit late but let me know if you need further details.

I think she was Violet Hope Williams born 1889 Glamorgan and died 1954 Glamorgan
