Hi,

If the Inquest papers have survived they might be at the local Record Office.  If not, then local newspapers would have probably carried a brief report.  The local Record Office should be able to advise you on this and if they hold any copies.

Hello Nanny Jan,

I'm just looking now,  would I have to look under Glamorgan Record Office or has Merthyr got one ?  Thank you for your reply and help.

Hi,

I'd try Glamorgan; if they have not got it they will probably know where it is!

I've looked for 3 Inquests (1856/1902/1914), all in the London area, and only found one set of papers (1902) but newspaper reports of the 1914 one.

Good luck!

Hi Carino

If you haven't made contact then Merthyr Library are a good bet; they hold archives copies of the Merthyr Express, the local paper for Merthyr & the Valleys.  They are very accommodating, they could very well do a look-up for you given the date.

Contact details are:

Thank you all, for your help,  I have now written off to Glamorgan Record Office and to Merthyr Library, so hopefully I will get to hear something in the next week or two.

Thank you so much.
