Verse on a headstone in Sussex
« on: Sunday 05 April 09 14:13 BST (UK) »
Hi RootsChatters,

Can anyone suggest what the four lines of verse read?  They're from the headstone of a married couple who died in their eighties; the memorial is located in Mayfield, Sussex, and dates from a year or two before 1820.  Unfortunately I live about 250 miles from Mayfield and cannot easily get back there to take a better photo.

Thanks for any help.

Two hours and a headache later just not enough detail ::)

Odd bits come up but are of no consequence.

Please post a request on the Sussex board and see if someone will re-photograph for you. I would be glad to try again.

So sorry
