Hi Chris,  Need info on William Spooner, born abt 1834 in Kirdford wife Sarah abt 1840, also in Kirdford. Found on 1881 census with two children, James & Seth William.  Seth is my wife's line. We have info from Seth forward but lost on William.

Thanks, Mack ;)

Hi!

On the familysearch site, there is a marriage entry for a William Spooner married to Sarah Spooner (Does not give maiden name, but the marriage was on the 31/12/1857 in Kirdford, Sussex.

Also if you go onto the site, click on IGI section, type in parents name William Spooner and Sarah, Click on British Isles, next on England, then on Sussex. It will bring up approx 15 Spooners born in the Kirdford area of Sussex, some maybe who you are looking for.

Hi there Catherine Mack
Before I read you posting, I had never heard of Kirdford in Sussex - but since checking with my Oracle, I find it is on the western side of Horsham, near Billinghurst in WEST Sussex.

Unfortunately I have very little information for the western part of the county , but you say that you have the census information - 1881, 1891, 1901.  The 1871 for Sussex is not yet on line.

So at the present moment in time, I am unable to help you.
