Thanks for that interesting info Jane. There was a large hall at the bottom of our street - Denton Street - just across from the Church and I now wonder if this was one of the original buildings belonging to the church. For as long as I can remember it was the YMCA building. In my childhood days the  caretaker (Mrs. Mary Walker) lived on our street and always held her daughters birthday parties there -  a real treat for us kids!
