A Big Favour , Please!
« on: Thursday 16 April 09 21:44 BST (UK) »
My daughter died 12 years ago and was cremated  at Reading Cemetery - per her husband's wishes. Her ashes were scattered in the Garden of Remembrance at the crem - per her husband's wishes. There was no marker - per her husband's wishes.

On the day that she was cremated - Valentine's Day - it was cold and grey and awful. I never thought to take a picture.

Her birthday is coming up - May 8 - (she would have been 48 this year)  and if some kind soul could take a picture of the Garden of Rememberance for me I would be forever grateful.

I'm 6,000 miles away and don't know when I shall get back to Reading.

Thanks so much in advance.
Indi xxxx

Hi  Indy,

I will ask my Mum or brother if they fancy a little trip out to Reading (they live in Uxbridge).

Can't promise, but we can try!

Do you mean the one on Henley Road or the one on London Road?

Yes please - I don't live awfully far from Reading, but I'd have to do it when my parents could take me - under 16.

Not everyone is 'old biddies' lol!

I think I may well be the youngest RootsChatter - the youngest after an 18 year old I have come across. Many of my friends shall have to pick up genealogy when they're much older  ;)

Thanks to everyone for your kind replies.

I'm not really sure which crem it is - I think it's the London Rd. one - but I could be wrong.

I do know that daughter's husband had a reception after the funeral at a pub called "The Little Waif" (I think. We didn't go - couldn't take the pain) But we passed it on our way back to the M4.

My internet is up and down at the mo - we are in the process of changing providers - sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't! Kinda like me!

Matt94 - what a kind soul you are for such a young chap.

Love
Indi xxx
