What is or was the low rise white building, it looks so out of character with the rest. Thank goodness it was there though

the white building is called the claremont vaults (now a pub)
the taller building next to it (above the mans head pushing pram) is also still there..its a mixture of hotels and flats...

that area still looks very similair today
