in the caerlaverock monumental inscriptions: in memory of robert and francis hutchison who died 1st february 1826 aged 1 year and 3 months, sons of robert hutchison in kelwoodburn. also william hutchison his son who died 1st june 1832 in the 4th year of his age. also robert francis his son who died 16th august 1847 aged 20 years and 9 months. also mary vivers their grandmotherwho died 28th october 1830 aged 79 years. also rachel henderson her daughter who died 25th may 1831 aged 39 years. also sarah henderson his spouse who died at racks25th february 1862 aged 69 years. also said robert hutchison who died at racks 22 april 1876 aged 86 years

so the twins sarah and rachel mentioned in my previous post must have been born to mary vivers not mary irvine ( must have been misspelt )

Hi akc

I agree the Irvine in the OPR's is a mispelling, the list of children I have found in the OPR on Scotland's People for Francis and Mary are:

Thomas Henderson 31/01/1779
Richard Henderson 26/03/1780
Betty Henderson 01/01/1782
Janet Henderson 01/01/1782
Ann Henderson 27/06/1784  - my ggg grandmother
Christopher Henderson 24/11/1787
Sarah Henderson 21/03/1791
Rachael Henderson 21/03/1791

Hope you don't think I'm hijacking your topic DDJjake but i think there may be a Henderson, Hutchison, Kerr link somewhere alone the line due to a thread I started in 2010 and I think you were involved in akc

Hi purplekat,
Most of my Henderson relatives originate from Fife and my Kerrs from Midlothian. My Richardson of Lochmaben link is to my Kerrs of Midlothian ..... James Kerr [Coachman!) of Cramond married Janet Richardson in Hightae in 1879 .... and one of their 8 daughters born in Stirling was my grandmother Jessie who married John Henderson in 1907 in Stirling .... this John descended from James Henderson and Elspeth Ingles m. 1731 in Wemyss, Fife.

Sorry DDJJake

I have a Thomas Richardson in my tree but he's not a direct ancestor of mine, he's the son in law of Ann Henderson, it seems to be a common name in the area so he probably won't be one of yours but I'll give you his details anyway, he was born approx 1824 in Johnstone and died aged 29 in 1852, he was a farm labourer.

akc - do you think there might be a link between 'my' Francis Henderson and your ancestors?

we think they could have been named after their fathers employer, seemed to be quite common back then to give your offspring a middle name from the local gentry, and we have a long line of ag labs in our tree

Thanks akc, 'my' Francis Henderson was a farmer but I don't know if he owned a farm or was an employee  :)
