Jg,

Recently wrote to every listed Boal in the TLS white pages. Non litsed in Tasmania. If you find any can you let me know..

By the way, I now know about 25% of Aust Boals in 2 weeks..
I am happy with that result. considering how poor / slack people can be...

Off  now..

Yes Scotland relative son the tree. Not many and a lot tehre.. BOAL BOLE BOLL
History says we cam e from Bual Spain... On Armada wrecked in Scotland and took the name Boal, but..
Apparently he named himseld Boal and it went form there. He is called Adam Boal...
I have my doubts, some Dna testing has stated Bowles from Uk are a close match so who knows..
I would be happy to get back to Robert Bole in Downpatrick 1613...in a tree.
I am 100 years off still.
Sent another 5 letters to Ireland today 60 to go.. Then Scotland.
Interestingly the scottish version Bole has almost died out...

Hi,

I have a marraige to Boal in my Tree. An Ellen Cardwell(although it was recorded as Carroll) married a James Boal on the 24th Dec 1869. They lived in the Dromore area of county Down. The marriage took place in Dromore Cathedral.   When did your Boals leave Ireland?
 Regards ,

Yes sadly the Scottish side of the Bole family is running out of male heirs.  My father (87), his brother (similar age), my cousin and I are, I think, the last of the Scottish line.  There is a Boles who was a Bole (but the RAF got his name wrong in WW11) so his offspring technically count which makes the number up to about 8 of us.

My 2nd great-grandmother was Sarah Bole(s) (Bowles):  birth 1863 or 1865 - CAVAN or NEWRY; Married William Marshall 1880 in Newry.  Her father's name is given as John.  This is all the information I have, if this has any connection with your research I would be grateful for any insights you have.
cheers
