Hello,

It would appear that Francis was one VERY popular name among the WOOSNAMs! I have 4 generations of same, and none of them match the data you mentioned as to year of birth or spouse.

MY earliest Francis WOOSNAM was b around 1670 and married to a Susan(nah). They would be my 6G grandparents.

Have you such a couple? I should certainly like to swap what I have in this line, should we have any rellies in common.

Thank you for your time.

Hello Craftysarah
Sorry, none of these Woosnams ring a bell with me. I'm researching on behalf of my sister-in-law who is decended from Francis Woosnam (1808) and Hannah Jones. Francis was born in Llandinam and Hannah in Trefeglwys. They lived in Waenlas, Trefeglwys.
Sorry

I am descended from Francis Woosnam and Hannah Jones, and would be very grateful for any info. at all. I am hoping to visit the area (I live in Scotland) in a couple of weeks, so anything you could tell me would be useful. I believe their burial site is known, but not to me!

Hi Ruthiemary

Please forgive me for such a long delay. I stopped the family search when my grandchildren started appearing! Now five children later I dip into my search from time to time. This is my sister-in-law's search. Christine is interested and some years ago we went to Mid Wales to search for her ancestors and had such an exciting time and were very successful. Did you find Francis and Hannah's grave? We did so if you're still searching I'm happy to try to remember where we found it.

Hello!
First, congratulations on so many grandchildren. We have only managed three!
Yes thank you, we did find the Woosnam grave, in the chapelyard at Caerau, a few miles south of Llandinam. The chapel is now a private house, but there is a right of way through the courtyard, leading to the cemetery. I can give detailed directions if you, or anyone else, would like.

On a later visit to the cemetery in Llandinam we also found the grave of  their daughter Margaret, my great grandmother. We had a lot of help from the librarians in Newtown, and from a historian who lives in Llandinam.
In all, we found the graves of four pairs of my ancestors in that small area, so I was well satisfied.
Hope we all get to hug our grandchildren soon!
Ruth.
