Can any one help with this one?  I am looking for any further information on my great Grandfather Patrick Campbell who was an alderman on Derry City Council when he died in 1916.  Patrick was born in 1872 in Ferguson St. Derry.
he married Anne Elizabeth Cummings in 1899. They had 4 sons James,John, Leo & Frederick.  I came across their tombstone on Find a grave.com, all is on the headstones are their names & deaths of death. No address. Derry city cemetery cant find the record for this burial.  I need an address in order to obtain further information from the  BMD office.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Freddie married May McKenna. They are both deceased. Fred was a head master in a boys primary school in Derry. They have sons in Bath ( UK ) in Dublin and daughters in Canada.

Their Grave is in Derry City cemetary.  It's beside Monseignuer Coulter's grave - if that helps. It's 2 Celtic Crosses that stand out.

If I can help more - (*)

Would any one know what area the West Ward would have been?  I received a small bit of information from the harbour museum a 1912street/trade directory and Patrick Campbell represented West Ward.

So if any one could tell mewhat area this is I would be very  grateful.

Hi Summerhill,
I think we are related !  My great grandfather was also the same Patrick Campbell.  My grandfather was Leo, he also lived in Great James street before moving to Dublin his wife Olive Kitson from Burnsfoot.  My father (also Leo) and his brother are still alive & well living in Dublin.  I will be moving back to Ireland (near Derry) this year after living abroad for 20 years, so just happened to do a search on GGDad's name as I know there is a plaque dedicated to him in the town hall of Derry which I intend to visit.  Maybe I already know you ? (only if your Grandfather is also Leo) ?  I can't figure out how to send a PM on this forum..
Thanks for all the info on this site which I will enjoy sharing with the rest of the family.

Welcome to Rootschat cominghome. After you've made 2 or 3 posts you'll be able to use PM system (look for little green scroll under user names on left side of posts).

Hi sorry
Can't help re West ward area's, But cominghome passed on the forum & I've been in touch with Leo's 2 sons (Leo & Ian) & they're delighted and meeting up 2mo so will hopefully get more info for you. Our dad Leo says Patrick was living in Nrth Great James st. when he died and no. 80 comes to mind but will confirm. They're dying to know if your related to Fred or Jim plus said there was also has a sister Maureen Campbell still of this name and a mid wife in uk. GGDad Patricks placque is in the Guild hall in Derry. He would have been 1st catholic lord mayor if he'd lived.
Thanks for all this hope we can get more info for you
