Hello
There is this possibility, a Jennie Stinson whom married Issac Laidley December 23, 1890 at Janetville. Both wife and husband born Manvers, Ontario. Her parents were Samuel and Jennie Stinson and his Thomas and Catherine Laidley. He was 32 a farmer, she 22. Religious denomination Methodist.
Give you her as a possibility as there is a discrepencies in birth dates. 1911 census Jane (Jennie) born October 1860: http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/SplitView.jsp?id=92929 1901 census Jennie October 16, 1870: http://automatedgenealogy.com/census/ProofFrame.jsp?id=48162
Janetville and Manvers 23.5 km apart, both in Kawartha Lakes area. Janetville 121 km from Toronto, while Manvers 106 km.
1871 Head of Household Census - Samuel Stinson in Manvers http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/1871-ontario/001016-130-e.html
In 1881 there is a William Ovens family of Irish descent found in Clarke, Durham West. Maybe the families knew each other. Both of Irish descent. Clarke and Manvers about 17 km distance.
In 1881 Samuel Stinson in Manvers is found as Steson. http://www.familysearch.org/ A Jennie is not with this family on the 1881 census, and could be the one with your John Ovens family. Samuel has wife Ann. Could this be a second wife, or also known as Jennie, or transciption error on Laidley-Stinson marriage. Would certainly need to see the full 1871 census; however, it is not indexed as of yet and only on microfilm to the best of my knowledge.

Just an update.
Annie would be a second wife for Samuel. There is a marriage for Samuel Stinson widower aged 35, residence Manvers, place of birth Cavan. His parents listed as Samuel & Jane Stinson married Anne Graham age 28. Married November 12th, 1873, Ops, Victoria County, Ontario. Ops is Anne's residence and birthplace.
Samuel's first wife Jane died August 6th, 1872, age 33 years. Jane was born Amhearst Island. Samuel was the informant and listed as farmer, Manvers as well as Dr. Hamilton, Cavan. She died of Diabetes Millitus, duration 9 months.

There is also this Jane which looks like a very good match:
Jane Stinson parents James and Jane Stinson born Feb 16, 1860, baptised Dec 31, 1860 born Peterboro (Peterborough) http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wjmartin/wm-s_143.htm
1871 Ontario Head of Household Census STINSON, JAMES age 35, born Ireland, merchant, in town of Peterborough. http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/1871-ontario/001016-100.01-e.php
A much better likelihood as year of birth matches for your Jane and her father James is a merchant as is your John Ovens. Maybe they did business together.
James Thompson Stinson, merchant born May 1838 Ireland, died March 28, 1910, 72 years 10 months, married, parents Robt. Stinson & Sarah Thompson, both born Ireland. Place of death 493 Reid St., Peterboro

Your welcome Lisa
You might want to include a link on your other thread to this thread, so it is known which Jennie's have been located.
Seems coincidental that a Stinson was living with the Ovens in 1881. I cannot find Jennie Stinson after 1881 (or before). Linda
