Hello all

I wondered if anyone could help to decipher what wound my grandfather had during WWI, it looks to me like

Collision bash?

Here is a link to military too where I was asking about his consequent pension.

yes, thanks possibly, I've never heard the word before.   Just looked it up = a bruise.  Quite possible I'd have thought.

On the pension page it says he was awarded a pension for 69 weeks and the injury was 20% debilitating.   From January 1919.

Sounds worse than the average bruise if it was 20% debilitating.  Still at least he got a 69% pension.

One of my g.uncle's was discharged (right at the end of WWI) suffering from tonsillitis - but the authorities didn't think that was worth a pension ::) ::)

Ha ha yes

He told many a story about his war years, one was that he was delivering ammunition to the front line on horseback, which I think from his records is the case, so it might be possible he was hit by shrapnel or something.
