Beatrice Mary Bonnevie (nee Walsh)
« on: Thursday 14 May 09 19:00 BST (UK) »
Hi, looking for any helpful info on the above person. My 2nd Cousin.

This is what I already have - Born around 1913 in Waterford, Ireland,
1920 US census - living in Somerville, Massachusetts.
1930 US census - living in Detroit, Michigan.

Married George B Bonnevie of Boston, Mass, in January 1946.
The ceremony took place in - Neosho, Missouri.

In an article in the Joplin globe, dated 6 Jan 1946 which announced
the wedding, it says that she had been director of the USO travelers
aid service, in that area, for the past 2 years.

The article also states - She gained a B.A. degree at Mary College Detroit
A Masters degree in Social Service, in Washington DC.
A Director of a Catholic Orphanage, in Saginaw, Michigan.

The Groom was employed by Western Union, after service in Japan
and the Pacific.

I'm hoping to find out more about the couple, Did they have Children ?
How their lives panned out, etc...

I do have some Passenger lists on which they appear, but what intrigues
me is -  I have Death index's for them both, and if there correct, Beatrice
died in August 1986, in Braintree, Holbrooke, Norfolk - Mass. and that
George died in December 1985, in Pinellas, Florida, which is the same
area as Beatrice's parents, William & Elizabeth Walsh, lived out the
remainder of their lives, 15/17 years earlier !

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards, Mike.

Thanks Shelly for that advice.
Just found out how invaluable obituaries can be.
I'll e-mail those you've listed, in the hope that
that something comes up.

Regards, Mike.

Hi Mike,
I am a niece of Beatrice and George Bonnevie.  My mother was Yvonne Kelly.  I just saw your post while looking for info on the Bonnevie family.  I'm a new member on RootsChat.com.  I also just found your post on Ancestry.com but couldn't reply as I'm not a member now.  Let me know if you get this reply.

Hi Kathy,

Great to hear from you, am I correct in assuming your surname would be Dumas?

I have been trying for such a long time to contact relatives of the subject topic, so hopefully this will be the first breakthrough.

It would be fantastic if we could share any info regarding the above.

Hope to hear from you soon.
