Whilst visiting St Athernase Church nr Leuchars in Scotland,I came across an interesting headstone for the above gentleman who died at sea with others in St Andrews Bay 1848.I have a photo of this together with some of the church and a few other headstones. If they are of any use to anyone, I will happily send them by email.

Good idea.I will try to do this!
I recently dug out the newspaper report about this in the St Andrews library, and have a photo of this too.It doesn't offer any family info, but is of interest.
