Many thanks you for the update on William Stevenson & Margaret Brodie who married at Rathven 17 Nov 1809 & then in Cullen 9 Dec 1809 (ref IGI).  I appreciate you posting the James Stevenson & Janet Ewing information as it is also helpful even although it drifts away from my main Stevenson lines.

On the Marnoch Headstones the Aberdeen Family History Society booklet is "very good" but as always there is something else that needs to be done to make it better.  Yes, it is true that many people could NOT afford a headstone.

Many thanks,  nw_whiskers.

Dear Avonlady & Maggie,  I was going through my Stevenson, Marnoch photographs which suggests that you have a relative recorded in there but you may already know about that.  My wife and I did some work relating to that particular stone in 2012 when we were searching for some of her Stevenson & Steinson relatives but sadly it did not pan out.  Sorry, about that but I still have the digital photographs if they are of interest to you.

Yes, I have been to Boyndie and Alvah as she has Watt relatives in the latter!

Best wishes,  nw_whiskers.
