« on: Wednesday 23 February 05 12:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi there

I am looking for the 1841 and 1851 census listings for John and Sarah Garrett/Garratt living in Woburn, in 1841, daughter Louisa was probably still at home and possibly Maria

Not a lot to go on, but can anyone help?

Thanks

Dorothy

Hi Dorothy

The only Garratts that I can see in Woburn in 1841 are as follows:

Birchmoor Green Woburn
Mary Garratt 65 lace maker born in Beds
George Garratt 20 ag lab born in Beds

same house but separate family unit
James Garratt 25 ag lab not born in Beds
Ann Garratt 25 born in Beds

Pinfold Pond Woburn
James Garratt 65 J [ourneyman] carpenter not born in Beds
Ann Garratt 50 not born in Beds

There is a burial in Woburn on 15 Feb 1832 of a Sarah Garratt aged 48

Regards

David

Hi David,

thanks for your help, i think that now i can rule out that they were in Woburn on the 1841 census.  Woburn was where all John and Sarah's children were born.

Since i posted the listing i have received the marriage certificate of John and Sarah Garratt's daughter Louisa and it gives John the  name of John Dingly Garratt, and the marriage was in West Derby.  And i then found a death for him in West Derby Lancashire in 1850.

So they could be living in West Derby for the 1841 census.

The death that you found for Sarah in 1832 could be a good possible.

Thanks again for your help

Best Wishes

Dorothy
