don't forget the GRO reference is no good to you when applying to a local registry office!

I would suggest an email to Abergele library with the details you know and they will do a search for the local ref.

Thats the ref you will get from 1837online... it's only of any use when you order from the GRO (General Register Office) at www.gro.gov.uk

local indexed are completely different...

The registar for St Asaph is based at Rhyl.
Their new address is Morfa Clwyd, marsh Road, Rhyl,
LL18 2AF. tel 01745 366611. Because boundaries overlap, some records are housed at Abergele. If Rhyl cannot find the record they send it to Abergele.
Hill in Tavistock, Twose and Coles in Halberton, Flower in Havant and Wells.

Hello Eldon, thanks for that infomation, i sent my cheque to Rhyl after the replies i had to my original question.

I rang them today as i was concerned that i hadn't heard from them, they gave the info that they had just moved and that they could not give me a time when my certificate would come, due to the move plus the young lady who looks after family history certificates has left and they haven't replaced her yet.

Oh well Patience is a virtue so they say,

Valerie

Hello Valerie,
Unfortunately they employ one person for two mornings a week to do this work, and they can take upto a month to reply. Not only have they moved but that person has left and the job has been advertised.
