My 4great grandparents were Samuel Scuffham & Elizabeth Hyde. Born Goulceby Lincoln and Gainsborough
The info that I have is that Samuels father was John Scupham and mother was Ann Scuffham.
I don't know if anyone can find anything about John @ Ann

Have you some dates for your people? births? marriages?
Do you know when and where John and Ann were married?
These extra bits of info make lookups more likely to be productive... and help the looker up.

the only info I have is the following:
Samuel Scuffham was born 14 Feb 1817 in Goulceby, Lincolnshire
He married Elizabeth Hyde born 28 Feb 1819 in Gainsborough
Sams father according to one web sight was John Scupham, mother Ann Scuffham.
No dates for these. The Scuffham name has variations:
Scopyn, scopham Scoffham Scothern Scothorne Scothron Scottorn Scuffin Scuffam
So I don't know what or where to go from here

Hi again Ironc...
the fact that Sam and Eliz. married in 1842 is good in that it is within the Civil Reg. period- post 1837- which means you can buy a marriage cert. and on it you should find the names of both the brides and grooms fathers and their occupations. This is good as it gives you some clear documentary eveidence. You can then go backwards and try to learn m9re about the named parents.
Do you know the website freebmd? Put that term into G**gle and you'll come to the site which you can search and maybe you'll find the dates of the Scupham kids from the 1842 marriage- you may need to play around a bit given the possible variants of spelling of the surname.

Having said that, his baptism names no father, so presumably he was illegitimate. Perhaps his father was a John, perhaps his stepfather was a John, but the chances that his father was called John SCUFFHAM are extremely slim (in my opinion).
