A house and family in India perhaps?
« on: Wednesday 10 June 09 13:02 BST (UK) »
Can anyone identify the house and/or family in these pictures? They were in an album that belonged to my grandfather from his years in India (1930-1936).

Thank you
Wright - Lincolnshire; Daymond - Devon; Murray - Co Cork; East - Hereforshire; Underwood - Blaenafon/Trevethin;

Do you know whereabouts in India your grandad was? If he was in the army, do you know which unit?
It might be worth posting the photos to the Armed Forces board - although I can't see any insignia, somebody may spot something about the mens' uniforms. Knowing the unit and the period may give you a location.
Worth a try perhaps?
Pete
Most roots researched back to the early/mid 1800s. Years noted as 'pre' refer to my direct ancestors, although I'm interested in any relatives:
Mitchelstown, Co.Cork: CORBETT (pre1935), SWEENEY  (pre1935), CUSACK? (pre1894), KEYS? (pre1894)
Mallow, Co.Cork: BROWNE (1895-1935)
Caher, Co.Tipp: BROWNE (pre1895), PURTELL(pre1895)
Cashel, Co.Tipp: FANNING (pre1886)
Llanelly, Carms: GRIFFITHS (pre1934), REYNOLDS (pre1901), WILLIAMS (pre1934)
Ton Pentre, Glams: LEWIS (pre1901)
