Sorry to here about your dad,have you looked at the 1911 Irish census yet .
It helped me after 3 years of looking for a needle in a haystack to finally track my lot down good luck , Little Annie

Theres a book named CARNDONAGH by Maura Harkin and Sheila McCarroll published 1984 & 2003 in Ireland by Cahill Printers Limited, East Wall Road, Dublin 3.   On Page 189 there is a photo of Charlie the Tailor (Doherty).  It appears in chapter 43 titled POUND STREET.   Don't know if it's your Charlie the Tailor but it just seemed too coincidental not to share it.

Hi my grand father is Charles Doherty (Tailer) looking for some family history,

Married Molly from Antrim, Travelled to Scotland and ended up in Johnstone few miles outside Glasgow, Had 3 Kids 2 Daughters and a son young Charlie who is now 65.My old Da.Would like to hear tales from old and past, I have been to Carn a few times for a holiday trip, and look forward to my next visit where I can enjoy and see some more of my grandfathers past.
