Hi
I have read the posts re Alice green with interest. My Grandmother Elizabeth  Rossney ne Green was born in Ballyfad in April 1882. she was one of 7 children of Patrick Green of Ballyfad and his wife Elizabeth Kinsella from the adjacent townland of Newtown. According to the 1911 census Patrick was born 1853 and his wife Elizabeth was born Dec 1842.
On the 25-9-1873    Patrick Green & Bessie Kinsella, were married in  Johnstown, Arklow, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow. (Inch Civil Parish = Arklow RC Parish) Pat Green was described as  full age, Batchelor, Farmer    Ballyfad.   Father John Green   dead  farmer.
Elizabeth Kinsella,     full age Spinster  farmer's dau.  Newtown.   Father John Kinsella  alive  farmer.      Witnesses were Michael Green and Ellen Kinsella.

I suspect your Alice Green could be Pat's sister and Michael above probably his brother but I need facts to prove this.  Do you have any other information on any of Pat's siblings or his mother ?

If any reader has any information on the Greens or Elizabeth Kinsellas siblings I would love to hear from you.

I would be grateful for any information which might help my family research,
Thank you

Sorry for the delay in my reply.  I have only few details on alice green at present.   1911 census - alice green born Ballyfad 1850.  Marriage to Andreas (andrew) Kavanagh 26 aug 1866 (arklow parish marriage records)  his father james labourer - her father john farmer.    First child Margaret born 1867 Coolgreany Wexford (IGI).  Family moved to Widnes following year and andrew died in 1891.  Family then moved to Lancashire by 1901.  Alice is buried in accrington cemetery (unmarked).  Does this help ?
regards

I have been doing a little more research on my grandmother's family but have not found much more on the older history.

I note from your information that Alice was born in Ballyfad 1850 and her father was John Green

My Great grandfather Pat Green was born in Ballyfad 1853 and his father was John.

1853 John Green was only  Green tennant  listed in Ballyfad, ref. Griffith's evaluation.

So unless there were two Johns in Ballyfad 1850 and one of them gone in 1853, which I think very very unlikely then,  I believe it is safe to assume that Alice and Pat were brother and sister. [which would make Alice my great grandaunt]
Would like to hear your comments and any further information that any one might have on this family.
