i am trying to find Wentworth Place, Dublin.  it is around the Hollis St / Mount St area. i cannot find it on the map and i am thinking it may have been demolished. a relative of mine lived there in the early 1900s.

hoping someone can oblige

according to Thom's directory of Dublin 1884 Wentworth place was off, Erne Street, which was off Denzille st, which was off Holles St.

see the following link to  a post on archiseek which suggest that the street is now called Hogan place, which is behind Holles st hospital. This would fit with the location suggested by Thom's street index.

Many thanks Shane.  i found Hogan Place etc.  i know there was a Wentworth Terrace as well called after the Earl of Wentworth.  that is why i thought it may have been demolished.

many thanks for your quick reply.

I have a couple of old maps of Dublin at home which I'll check this evening to confirm if Wentworth place and Hogan Place are the same street....

going by the 1884 street listing no 16 Wentworth Place was about half way along between the Harmony Row and Grant's Row junctions..

occupied by a Mr. Michael Grehan
