Clan Stewart and the LYLE famiies
« on: Friday 25 February 05 17:30 GMT (UK) »
My LYLE ancestors were born in Govan Parish, Lanarkshire.  One couple was married in Barony, Lanarkshire and one couple in Kilmalcolm, Renfrewshire.

Recently I read that the name, LYLE, was part of the Clan Stewart from Renfrewshire.  I've seen several other spellings; one other in Scotland (LEILL) and the one used in the US almost since the time of immigration (LISLE).

Hopefully, someone can give me some insight into the Clan and those families called LYLE.    Thanks, RedFox
