I don't know if you also cover Redlynch, but I have an ancestor Phoebe Bosworth b. 1810 approx in Redlynch according to later censuses. I've been unable to find a birth record. I wonder if you now of any other Bosworths around this time? I'd be grateful for any information you may have.

Hello, my name is Michelle Richmond, my lineage is also from Downton.
My great Grandad was from Downton then 5 generations up. I am unable to go back any further now unless I believe I visit? Where would I be able to find parish records etc?
The Richmond family also married into other Downton families; Elkins, Hillyar, Musselwhite.

My mothers father line (as far as I have traced it so far) started in Downton, Wilts and in the course of my doing the tree I have come across many many helpful people who also 'start' in Downton. I am considering a new tree on Ancestry for Downton Families .

Hello Sandra, I have traced my 'Richmond' paternal line to Downton. 6 generations that I know of were from there and married into other Downton families also. Hillyar, Elkins and Musslewhite. I am currently stuck with my tree in Downton 1700's, but plan to keep on going.

Hi - can I ask your connection with Shergold?  I have Shergolds in my family and have never come across others. My ancestor, Mathias Woodyear, married Mary Shurgall 5 Apr 1708 at Winterslow, though both parties were from Plaitford. If there is any connection, I would be delighted to hear.
