If anyone is searching for some of the records for St Clare's Convent, Pantasaph, they are held at Hawarden, Flintshire Archive.

That will be very interesting to a lot of people!

Do you know what years they cover?

I realise these archives of the Convent of St Clare's will be of particular interest to descendants of orphans who were placed at St Clare's, Pantasaph. The 100 year rule applies and I am trying to search for a way of applying to view a record relating to mid 1920's - 1935 approx. Is the Freedom of Information Act the way to go about this please?

Jo

Have just recalled that a BBC web site, 'Ask a Local' had a long running thread about St Clare's, Pantasaph. Many wished to find out where the records are. I contacted the Web site and the thread has now been closed because it had run for 7 years!

Jo

I'll see if I can search on the new BBC site for a 'link', such as Flintshire, to pass on the info about records at Flintshire Archives, Hawarden

Has anyone managed to source a register of children at the orphanage in Pantasaph?
Thanks

Hello Carow 48

You may already have found this site but just to let you know
I sent a query to www.flintshire.gov.uk.archives yesterday and
had a reply today telling me that they have admission records
from 1861 to 1954. Unfortunately for me they did not have the one I
requested

Sylvia

The link wasn't working,   http://www.rootschat.com/links/09ut/

The record office is at Hawarden.     If you google flintshire archives you should pick up the website.
