I did wonder about upholder - but didn't think it could have been an occupation! Upholsterer looks the most likely doesn't it?

It now looks like I've got to look for a Mr Maynard in soft furnishings ...

Thanks all.

Slightly off topic -

This morning I was looking through an old 1792 parish census for Balmaclellan in Kirkcudbrightshire. The booklet also contains various snippets, including one for the cost of materials for upholstering the pulpit of the church - it was over £9 even then. It might have been Scots £s though but it does seem a lot  :)

I think it's 'upholder'.
Which, apparently, is an archaic form of 'upholsterer'.

I think it says 'upholder', which is an archaic term for upholsterer - the downstroke of the 'p' being separated from the rest of the letter. Is the letter form repeated anywhere in a more obvious word ?  Or does anything in the rest of the document suggest the same?
