Anyone researching Allen, possibly with connections to canals (boatmen)

A Job Allen died at Ledbury in 1853 age 40, wondering if this could be the same person who wed an Eliza or Elvira Whitehouse
in 1842 at Dymock Gloucs.
Both Job + his father Thomas were boatmen.
I've searched for this couple in the 1851 cens(no luck) understandable due to occupation, perhaps someone may have come across
these names,if so,I would appreciate even the tiniest of info.

Thankyou
Jackie

Hiya Jackie....just checked on www.freebmd.org.uk and the marriage is as follows..
Job Allen to ELIZA Whitehouse september qtr 1842..register office Newent Ref No 11 35 .Newent is described as Bordering ..Gloucester / Herefordshire and Worcestershire....so Ledbury is within this area...just checked on Mapquest UK....Dymock to Ledbury is 5 miles......so more than likely the same Job Allen....all you need now is PROOF.....my Ancestors are from Norton Canon....the same area....if I can help let me know
death register of Job Allen  Dec Qtr 1853  Ledbury ,Ref No, 2a 263.
looks like Eliza remarried in 1857 to Henry John Webb or Thomas Nott....checking info...I think I`ve found her
looks like she married Henry John Webb in 1857 ..ref No Ledbury June Qtr 1857  6a 733
death cert ..Eliza Webb ..Mar Qtr 1868 Ref No Ledbury 6a 210....aged 48...so she`s b  1819/1820...so young to have gone through what she did.....this fits in spot on with her marriage in 1842...age wise....all supposition until you buy Job Allen death cert.........it`s never easy Jackie...lol...good luck
allan ;)

Hello Allan
Thankyou for taking the time and interest in my query.  The marriage you referred to at Ledbury in 1857 is that of
an Eliza Whitehouse (not Allen) she was a spinster +minor.
As Eliza was a sister to my g.g.grandfather+ not having found any children from her marr.to Job Allen, I think I'll try and do a bit more digging before buying a cert.

          Again thankyou
         Jackie.
