rake lane cemetry section 2R
« on: Sunday 26 July 09 22:34 BST (UK) »
hi
i have been the records and found one of my relatives to be buried in the rake lane cemetry in 1892 in section 2R. I visted the cemetry last week and found a section which was just grass apart from 2 headstones but none of which were my relative. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with any information on the this graveyard especially this area of the graveyard??
thanks

Hi

Whilst locals tend to refer to the cemetery as Rake Lane cemetery its actually Wallasey Cemetery, Cheshire.  I don't know about section 2R but the section where my grandparents are buried has scattered headstones in a grassed (and when I was there, muddy) area.

Your best bet may be to either contact the office at Landican Cemetery or possibly ask one of the workers at Wallasey Cemetery.
