I have this family

William Thomson and Ann Crombie
         their  children
1/Andrew  Crombie Thomson b.  1824, Prestonpans.
2/ David  Thomson b.1826,Prestonpans.
3/ William Thomson b. 1828, Prestonpans
4/ Ann Thomson b.1830 Prestonpans.
5/ Sarah Thomson 1832, Prestonpans.
6/ Martha Thomson b.1834, Prestonpans.
7/ Margaret Thomson b.1837,Prestonpans.
8/ Wilhelmina Thomson b.1840, Prestonpans.
9/ Rachel Thomson b. 1842,Prestonpans.

does any one know anything about this family.

family is on the 1841 census(freeCEN) at prestonpans
william was an ag. labourer age 35(probably nearer 40) born east lothian
there is one tree on ancestry with this family(not a member so can't view)

by 1851 census(freeCen) william is widowed age 49 labourer with family at
rose mount prestonpans

the 1861 census is on freeCEN but can't see them

Hi there
            During your work on the Thomsons from Prestonpans did you ever come across William Thomas born 1815.  May have married Mary Buchan.  They  had a daughter Mary Thomson born  1837 in Prestonpans, Mary Thomson married a George Kelly we think in North Berwick.   All in the Fishing Industry

William Thomson - Mary Kelly Nee Thomson's Father born 1815 in Preston Pans, died 1891

1861 Census listed as William Thomson as Head of the house, living at the Harbour North Berwick  with young Married daughter Mary and son in law George who were in their early 20s with a two year old son named James

in 1871 The Family had moved to Shore street North Berwick,  William listed as Lodger and now George Kelly Son In law is Head of the house

1881 census living with His widowed daughter and family at 9 Harriot Place - North Berwick.  This time Mary is head of the house and William her Dad is listed as boarder.

Mary Thomson Died aged 84 in 1922
Dwelling: 7 Heriot Place, Haddington, North Berwick Scotland
and Canty Bay
She appeared in the census on 7 April 1861 in North Berwick.  She appeared in the census on 2 April 1871 in North Berwick.
