Le Vesconte family
« on: Saturday 01 August 09 21:41 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am researching the Le Vesconte family tree. They were originally from Jersey but Daniel (1828) and Alice moved to Bedminster. They had 7 children:

Louisa Deslandes b1865, Jersey (my g-g-grandmother)
Jessica Nicolle b1866, Jersey
Alice Esperanza b1869, Bedminster
Romulus Horatio b1871, Bedminster
Percival Alexander b1874, Bedminster
Linda Le Feuvre b1875, Bedminster
Gerda Victoria b1878, Bedminster

Sometime after Daniel and Linda died in 1880 the family moved to Monmouthshire and Alice remarried.

I would be very interested to hear from anyone who knows anything about the descendants of Daniel and Alice's children. Most ofthem stayed in or around the area, and Romulus (AKA Horatio) moved to Cardiff.

Hi Carol  :)

Thanks for that. I have the marriages for all but Percival, although don't know the name of Alice Esperanza's husband.

Louisa had 12 children, 5 of whom were born in Mon, the rest in Hereford.
Jessica had 2 children that I can find, both born in Mon
Romulus had 8 children, 6 born in Mon and 2 in Cardiff. 2 may have emigrated to Canada.

I am at the stage of trying to fill in gaps and find out more about recent ancestors, for example I only have a death date for Linda but none of the others and don't know much about their children (except Louisa) other than birth dates.

Rosie We are helping Alice Geisler nee Le Vesconti find her ancestors.
Alice is the only child of Percival Alexander Le Vesconti and Kate Lyth.
We are also looking for her greatgrandfather, the father of Daniel.
Can you help?
Pat

Dear Rosie

My name is Ivor John Raymond Le Vesconte * (I have a  sister *) and I am the son of Ivor (who died in 1934) and grandson of Romulus Horatio.
You wanted to know about Horatio's family.  He had 10 children named Ernest, Harry, Arthur, Ivor, Bert, Danny, Bill, Hetty, Herby and Janet.  4 of which went to Canada (Ernest, Harry, Danny and Herby).
My grandfather lived and married in Caerleon and then sent approximately 30 years in Tredegar, and retired to Cardiff about 1952. I don't know much more but I have a relative * Le Vesconte who lives at *.  I am, not in contact with them but I understand his wife was interested in the family tree and may have other information.
Good Luck
Ray

Hello my name is Pamela Le Vesconte and I know my grandfather has a family book that has Romulus Horatio in it as our family history. I'm the great grand daughter of Harry Le Vesconte son of Romulus.

My name is Susan Lakeman.  My great grandfather was Rolumus Horatio, and my grandfather was Ernest.  I am in Canada.  I know a bit about Ernest's life in Canada.  I would like to find out some family history for my mother, who is Ernest's daughter.
