Sea Captains of Devon 1860-70s?

Does SKS have any information of Sea Captains from Devon please?

Looking for a William Gregory who was a Retired Sea Captain in 1871 and living in St Andrews, Devon.  He was 62 at the time.

In 1853 he was listed as a Shipswright, so must have become a Sea Captain between these two dates.

He was a Watchman age 72 on the Thorne docked in Liverpool in 1881 but I can't find any inforamtion on the Thorne, what type of ship it would have been etc.,

Please can anyone help?
