The 1901 census is due online on the same website later this year which should help....

you can search an index to Irish Civil BMD registrations at : http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=2;t=searchable;c=1408347

If you find a promising match you can order a cert from the GRO - www.groireland.ie

Can't see the entry you mean- is this her?
Rosanna TAAFFE age 40 married 19 years 5 children/3 living
husband Edwrd age 50 and daughters Katie 17 and Rose 12.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Yes thats it thanks Taid, I don't know how to add links i'm afraid.
Thanks Shane I have looked through the bmds from the Marriage date of Rosanna and John 1894 to 1911 and there are so many I dont know how to narrow it down. Is there another way I can do this?

This is just a snapshot of the information on the census,I don't envy you the 17 year span you will need to search to find births and deaths for the other children with just the year of marriage and 1903 ruled out.the indexes up to about 1928 don't show the maiden name of the mother.do you have any other facts which might point you in the right direction.
                                                                     Anne

Rossans? year of birth -    1875  possibly

Patrick -  .....                  1894    .....

James...................         1903   ....

marriage for Rossans        1894 ......

Nothing other than the parents where both born and married in the same area dublin north district and rosanna died (Same address as 1911 census)in 1916  of bullet wounds during the Easter Rising. So il just have to go through all of north dublin registration as im presuming they did not move during that time.

On the first page (of 9)  of death results for Dublin North I counted 24 deaths of children with the surname Taaffe.. most aged less than one. I was thinking that if the numbers were less that it would be possible to order a few likely certs. But with that number that's not an option.

Another idea might be to look for first names that appear in the family - i.e Rosanna, her husbands name (John?), other names that appear in later generations.. also Rosanna and her husband's father's names if you know them from their marriage cert.
