Crinkill Military Cemetery

Was in Crinkill (outside Birr) and found old Military cemetery, (very overgrown with grass) and while 63 headstones are recorded it's said that at least 250 are buried here.

Supplementary information; Son of Edward and Janet M. Allen; husband of Daisy Evelyn Allen, of 100, Elphinstone Rd., Hastings.

GOLDING, JAMES. Rank: Private. Regiment or Service; 1st County of London Yeomanry (Middlesex Yeomanry). Date of Death: 02-November-1918. Enlisted in Shoreditch while living in Finsbury. Service No: 260927. Died at Home.
King’s County Chronicle, November, 1918.
Birr.
Private Golding, of the Middlesex Yeomanry, who had been ailing for some weeks, died in the Military Hospital, and was buried in the cemetery at Crinkle with full military honours on Tuesday.
Grave or Memorial Reference: 45. Cemetery: Birr Military Cemetery, County Offaly.

WHYTE, H. Rank: Serjeant. Regiment or Service; Leinster Regiment. Date of Death: 13-August-1914. Service No: 6432.

CQMS Allen was killed in a plane crash. I am just starting to research him

I have also found out that there was an aerodrome at Crinkill from 1917 to 1922.

The old airstrip is in the centre, and the ruins on the Barracks are at the top right centre.

I think Joseph Antill could be the son of John Antill and Priscilla Sharpe, husband at the time of his death to Fanny (nee Provost). 

This is them on 1871 census at The South Front Barracks, Western Heights, Hougham, Dover:

I am so pleased to find my Gr Grandad burial place  I am going to visit Birr in a few weeks and
now its made it worthwhile ,thank you so much
