In a 1930s gazetteer of south Lancs, Penny Street, Salford , postal district 6, runs approx northwest  between Clarendon Road and Slater Street - nearest landmark Langworthy Park,  a block or two to the west.  [Next are Crown and Florin Streets - any snobbery there???]
The Manchester boundary is about a half mile to the east, but I think Salford for postal purposes was 'Manchester 6' - much to the Salfordians' dissgust!

Sorry but I don't have a current map of the area.
My little joke was about the different values of coins - crown, florin and penny.
